Why work at Ballast Point

Ballast Point is unique in that it has an in-house design team working together with our construction team to ensure our clients have a seamless journey from inception through to completion. We offer a flexible work environment, and a flat structure, ensuring a high level of awareness and involvement across all our projects. We pride ourselves on inclusivity, diversity and respect for all people and the environment. We provide a space where people can be their authentic selves. We live and work by these principles and expect each team member to keep us accountable. It’s not window dressing and sales talk.

At Ballast Point we are always learning and evolving; redefining what a design and building company can be. We do not place limits on ourselves, and we do not place limits on you. We embrace new technology to create systems that work for staff, clients, collaborators, and the community, and expect you to contribute to improving these systems. We empower our staff to do exceptional work, and take risks. We encourage our staff to take on side projects and explore.

A bit more about us

At Ballast Point we believe that relationships are paramount. We love working with clients to ascertain what they need from us and delivering a tailored solution. What makes us different? We start each conversation with “what do you need?” rather than “this is what we do”. We aim to change the way buildings are created so our clients feel inspired, informed and supported. We exist to help our clients transform their house into something truly exceptional that enriches their life.

Our clients love our integrated approach and that we tailor design solutions to individual client’s needs, rather than constantly repeating a standard company design. This provides varying, interesting, and enriching experiences across various projects and diverse opportunities for professional development. We have a forward-thinking approach to environmental issues, integrating sustainability into everything we do, from our office culture through the design process and the final build. Our leadership team is not afraid to challenge the status quo, always questioning the standard industry solutions and searching for bold and progressive ways of solving problems.

We are looking for highly-motivated staff who will fit in with our close-knit team. Our workload fluctuates depending on what the priorities are, and we have an appreciation that there is more to life than work!
